The Matthias Sisters are two sisters who have been singing together for many years. They began singing at an early age for church services, birthday parties, and church functions while also joining school choirs and picking up whatever instruments sparked their interest - ie the piano, flute, clarinet, or violin.

After many years of arguing and fulfilling the usual sibling rivalry, they became inseparable friends; as a result, their music flourished. They started experimenting with harmonies and arrangements, branching out their repertoire to include covers of Broadway, Celtic, Opera and Pop songs. They performed in many musicals and shows, churches, festivals (such as The Festival of Trees), sang at hospitals for Music is Good Medicine, and performed at weddings.

During their high school years they recorded their first CD; they wanted something to look back on in the years to come that would allow them to reminisce on music they had made together. They got wonderful responses from friends and musicians, so they kept it going and recorded two more - Beyond the Dream and a Christmas Album - O Holy Night.

Maren went to Chicago to study Musical Theatre and Stage Combat. Amidst her studies she played Peter Pan in a directing project and Rapunzel in Into The Woods - two roles that will live on as favorites of hers. Kara studied Music Performance and Communicative Disorders in Wisconsin and recently moved to Ireland to get her Masters degree in Irish Traditional Music. Although they are currently on different continents, they continue to come together whenever possible to collaborate on musical projects. Maren will occasionally write her own songs, and Kara has helped branch out their repertoire to include Traditional and Folk songs from Ireland. They are always growing and always trying new musical adventures together. They are excited for what their futures will bring!
